| Résumé : |
In ordre to highlight the potentiel of algae extracts which represent a promising source of bioactive compounds with photoprotective properties. This work explores the potential of extracts of a species of brown algae (dictyota dichotoma) for the formulation of natural sunscreens, combining UV protection and antioxidant, antimicrobial activities, and the UVA-UVB absorption of a brown alga from the coast of Algeria. The species dictyota dichotoma was harvested in the region of Ain Taya (Deca palm beach). The extraction method by ultrasonic sonifier in the water-ethanol mixture was carried out. The evaluation of the antioxidant activity by the DPPH free radical trapping method. The antibacterial potency study was conducted using the agar diffusion method against five bacterial strains: E. coli (Escherichia coli), B. subtilis (Bacillus subtilis), P. aeruginosa (Pseudomonas aeruginosa), S. aureus (Staphylococcus aureus), and M. luteus (Micrococcus luteus).
In contrast, the antifungal potency was examined with two mycelia, Umbelopsis ramanniana and Penicillium expansum, and their UV absorption was assessed using an extract of our algae species. Finally, a sunscreen incorporating these extracts was formulated in vitro, and their sun protection factor was characterized using an in vitro method.
