Dam water is exposed daily to variation inits quality due to several factors, manly climatological and human factors(wastewater discharge).
This study focuses on the evaluation of physicochemical and microbiological quality raw and treated water from the Boukourdane dam located in the Tipaza region. A four-year retrospective study (2020 to 2024) coupled with monitoring of physicochemical and microbiological quality within the Sidi Amer treatment station spanning three months. The analyzes focused on around twenty physicochechemical parameters (pH, temperature, turbidity, bicarbonate, nitrate, nitrite, ammonium, phosphate, chlorides, iron, aluminum, organic matter, ect.); And three microbiological parameters (total coliforms (CT) and fecal (CF) as well as intestinal enterococci.
The different physicochemical parameters analyzed and the different microorganisms sought comply with Algerian standards and have that the treated water from the Boukourdane dam is of good quality for human consumption.
